The museum, which is will be located near the port in the city, has been funded by the 28-year-old Real Madrid forward, and will showcase memorabilia from all of his achievements – including winner’s medals from the Premier League, Champions League and La Liga, as well as individual honours such as 2008 Ballon d’Or. There may be a space next to it where this year’s Ballon d'Or would be, with Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery the favourite and Ronaldo at odds with football’s international governing body and its president Sepp Blatter. A family source told Diario de Noticia: “The museum will be very important for the region because it will bring tourists from all over the world. Who would not want to see the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot, among many trophies that Ronaldo has already won?” The museum will reportedly open in early 2014.
